This is the result of "Able", a 23 kiloton yeilding ,air-deployed nuke that was detonated on Canada day, 1946. While it didn't kill anyone, the 14 lb sub-critical mass of plutonium used in it's assembly was involved in two accidents at Los Alamos Laboratory in 1945 and 1946. Both accidents resulted in the radiation poisoning and death of a scientist. It will always be known as the demon core.
